I’m a freelance editor and the founder of Verdant Editorial.

My love for words started when I was young. I devoured books as a child, often staying up way past my bedtime to read. As a middle schooler, I enjoyed writing so much that I would beg my teacher to assign more essays. (My classmates loved that.) In college, I knew the MLA handbook so well that my professors would refer other students to me for questions on tricky citations. My love for words eventually led me to a career as an English teacher.

As a teacher and tutor, one of my favorite tasks was helping writers polish their work so that errors would not detract from their ideas. I also have professional and volunteer experience writing and self-editing educational content and curriculum.

I completed a Certificate in Editing through the University of Washington to transition to a career in editing. As an editor, I am still passionate about helping writers cultivate their writing so their ideas can flourish.
